Saradha Group CMD Sudipta Sens close aide Debjani Mukherjee has denied having any intimate relationship with Sen.
Though I knew of the disaster looming large over the Saradha Group,I did not want to desert the captain of a sinking ship, Debjani one of the prime accused in the chit fund scam claims in a letter written by her in custody and released to the media by her lawyers today.
She has also sought to clarify that though she made frequent business trips with her boss Sen,she never shared a room with Sen but to my utmost bad luck people are gossiping against my chastity.
She insists that she was a sincere trustworthy employee. I never tried to override or cross limits nor had any intention to do so.
Debjani joined the Saradha Group in January 2008 in its tour and travels sector as joint executive and was posted in Guwahati at a salary of Rs. 15,000. She was promoted to the post of the director of the company in July same year.
She says trouble started for her when her boss started doing business in a manner that was against her principles. I started raising my voice against my boss and he,without considering my dedication towards the company, sacked me from the post of a director.
Debjani says she has been the director of five media companies till date,as without proper scrutiny it is impossible to be a director of a media house and if one has to replace me one should go through the same process which requires a lot of procedural complications.
She says when the company started falling on bad times, many people of esteemed class in the society who have always been in a cordial relationship with my boss and the company, started showing their true colours.
She says her only only fault was that she did not not leave her boss midway.
Debjani, who was arrested from Sonmarg in Jammu and Kashmir on April 23 along with Sen, said: Trust me that was the only sole reason of my being with SudiptaSen when he called me to Delhi and though I tried to return twice to Kolkata after meeting him,I could not succeed8230; My only sin, what I understood is,that I could not leave the captain of a sinking ship. Debjani also denied having Rs 30 crore in her account. In the letter, she also says she will fully cooperate with the police in the investigations.
