Katihar BJP MLC held

Ashok Agrawal,a BJP member of the Bihar Legislative Council from Katihar,was arrested on Sunday for allegedly shooting one of his employees on July 17.

The MLC claims Dhiraj Mahto 38,munshi at his construction firm,was killed in an accidental firing. He was held after the deceaseds brother Niraj Mahto,a journalist, lodged a murder case against him. Agrawal,who faces seven cases,including two court complaints for provoking Forbesganj firing last year,has been arrested for the first time. Katihar SP Kim said: We arrested the MLC last night and produced him before the court today. He was remanded in 14 days judicial custody.

Meanwhile,a forensic team collected evidence corroborating that seven bullets were fired from the carbine of Agrawals bodyguard,with two hitting Mahato in the head. Niraj alleged that it was a planned murder.
