In a bid to provide thrust to trade and investment between India-UK,a joint economic panel has identified projects, including collaboration between British multinational BAE systems and Indian auto major Mahindra &Mahindra; joint venture Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Rolls Royce; and collaboration between Bhushan Power & Steel and CDE Asia Ltd for immediate implementation.

In the 8th round of meeting of India-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO),the panel identified these projects and agreed to put them on fast track.

Commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma, who along with a business delegation led by Ficci and CII,is in London for the meeting, also raised concerns regarding the prolonged delay in obtaining a visa for business meetings.

Sharma flagged the “issue of the restrictions imposed on non-EU immigration into the UK which is adversely affecting the operations of Indian companies in the UK,” an official statement said.
