In a bid to provide thrust to trade and investment between India-UK,a joint economic panel has identified projects,including collaboration between British multinational BAE systems and Indian auto major Mahindra amp;Mahindra; joint venture Hindustan Aeronautics Limited HAL and Rolls Royce; and collaboration between Bhushan Power amp; Steel and CDE Asia Ltd for immediate implementation.
In the 8th round of meeting of India-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee JETCO,the panel identified these projects and agreed to put them on fast track.
Commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma,who along with a business delegation led by Ficci and CII,is in London for the meeting,also raised concerns regarding the prolonged delay in obtaining a visa for business meetings.
Sharma flagged the issue of the restrictions imposed on non-EU immigration into the UK which is adversely affecting the operations of Indian companies in the UK, an official statement said.
