IAF rescues stranded villager
Hyderabad: The Indian Air Force on Sunday rescued a villager stranded in the flood waters of Godavari in Karimnagar district. A message was received by the Air Officer Commanding,Hakimpet,from AP Disaster Management Authority requesting help in rescuing people who were stranded on an island in the Godavari river due to the sudden release of water from the Sriram Sagar project.

FIR against BSP leader
Barabanki: An FIR was lodged against Mohammed Aslam,a local BSP leader,on Saturday in connection with self-immolation bid by a woman after she was allegedly thrashed during a panchayat meeting in Fatehpur area. The woman had left her husband and was living with another person and to sort out the issue a panchayat was called on August 29,the police said.
