Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh created a flutter demanding an inquiry into the alleged irregularities of Robert Vadra.

On Monday,Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh created a flutter in the Congress demanding an inquiry into the alleged irregularities in land deals involving party president Sonia Gandhis son-in-law Robert Vadra. With several BJP MPs demanding suspension of Question Hour in Lok Sabha to raise the issue,Congress partys floor managers had a tough time fielding their party colleagues and allies to scuttle it. Sonia and her daughter Priyanka Vadra were, however, were noticed shopping at a home furnishing store at a posh market located not far from their 10,Janpath residence.

Smiling his way

Talk about his enigmatic silence on burning issues! As Rahul Gandhi accompanied by Union Minister Srikant Jena and others came out of Parliament on Monday afternoon,he was followed by a crowd of byte-collectors. They waited with baited breath when he stopped to talk with Barmer MP Harish Chowdhury. As he walked towards his car, they followed him screaming for his reaction on communal riots at Kishtwar in Jammu amp; Kashmir. Rahul, however, smiled and got into the car.

No meeting ground

To ensure smooth functioning of the House,Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar Monday held a meeting with party leaders. While Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj was keen to raise the issue of alleged irregularities in land deal involving Robert Vadra,RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav had a different agenda. He was keen to discuss amendments in the RTI and legislative measures to shield politicians from getting barred from contesting elections in the wake of recent ruling of the apex court. Left parties demanded discussions on solar panel scam in Kerala while TDP members sought discussion on Telangana. There was obviously no consensus as the House continued to witness disruptions.

In battle gear Chittoor MP N Sivaprasad Monday entered Lok Sabha dressed as Lord Krishna. As the House reassembled at noon after the first adjournment, the TDP MP,wearing a yellow garland, walked in sporting a crown and a peacock feather on his head,Sudarshan Chakra in his right hand and carrying a flute. He went into the Well and was proceeding towards treasury benches when he was stopped by Lalu Prasad Yadav. His other party colleagues holding placards carried on disrupting the proceedings only to draw the ire of Deputy Speaker Karia Munda when the House assembled in the second half.

clueless on rules officials of the Tribal Affairs Ministry were thrown into a tizzy last week when V Kishore Chandra Deo wanted them to prepare for his suo motu statement in Parliament. It seems,no Tribal Affairs Minister, since the ministry was created in 1999,had ever made a suo motu statement in Parliament and hence, they were all clueless about the procedure and rules involved. It was finally left to the ministers office to do the needful.
