The driver of a Jaipur Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP was arrested and bailed out on Sunday in a hit-and-run case on June 22 that killed a 22-year-old student Vikram Singh. Despite the incident occurring more than a week ago,the driver was arrested only after Singh succumbed to his injuries late on Friday night, even as senior police officials claimed they were informed of the accident only on Saturday.

According to the FIR registered on June 22,Singh was on his motorcycle with a friend when they were hit by a rashly driven government vehicle. While Singh was rushed to a hospital, his friends followed the vehicle and noted the registration number RJ 14 CC 1509 the official vehicle of Jaipur DCP East Satyaveer Singh.
