Cases have been filed against Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa and Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil for alleged hate speeches they made over the past week in separate incidents at Shimoga and Belgaum. Chief Electoral Officer in Karnataka,Anil Kumar Jha,said copies of the complaints against Eshwarappa and Patil had been received. 8220;We have given the speech copies to the Election Commission. We are awaiting directions,8221; he said. The case against BJP leader Eshwarappa for comments against a minority community was filed on the directions of a poll code enforcement team monitoring speeches ahead of the May 5 polls to the Karnataka Assembly.
