Gujarat seeks death for Ode riot convicts

A total of 26 people had been killed in two incidents at Ode town.

The Gujarat High Court Wednesday issued notices to all 27 convicts of Ode area massacre cases,on two appeals filed by the state seeking enhancement of their punishment from life imprisonment to death. This is the first case where the state has asked for death penalty in any of the post-Godhra rioting cases. A total of 26 people had been killed in two incidents at Ode town.
