French industry minister Christian Estrosi has criticised directors of IT major Wipro Ltd for considering a closure of an office in France after the Indian company took a tax credit from the government. In an e-mailed statement,Estrosi slammed the software companys plan to close an office in Sophia Antipolis,in southern France,after taking a 7.35 million research tax credit from the government,Bloomberg reported.
It is unacceptable for these measures to be twisted,he said,adding that he has asked the company to prove within 15 days that they are not bosses without scruples. Wipros Austria-based NewLogic Technologies GmbH subsidiary operates the development centre in Sophia Antipolis,which specialises in wireless communications systems,according to NewLogics Web site. The facility has about 60 employees.
