Five Naxals held for landmine blast

The police suspect the other arrested Naxals might be involved in Khudwa landmine blast.

The Aurangabad police Monday arrested five Naxals including one wanted in the killing of former Ranvir Sena commander Sushil Pandey and six others in a landmine blast last week. The police suspect the other arrested Naxals might be involved in Khudwa landmine blast. The police said one of the arrested Naxals,Vijay Singh from Chandwa village of Khudwa police station,was among seven named accused in the landmine blast case. The police have registered a case against seven named and 50 unknown people in the landmine blast case. Aurangabad superintendent of police said the five Naxals were arrested during simultaneous raids conducted in Fesar,Khudwa and Obra areas. While Vyas Paswan was arrested from Fesar,Shohrai Bhuiyan,Laxman Bhuiyan,and Suraj Bhuiyan were arrested from Obra. All five reportedly confessed their involvement in last weeks landmine blast case and the Goh Naxal attack. The police also seized three country-made weapons with 20 live cartridges from them.
