The Madhya Pradesh Police on Sunday seized a large quantity of explosives from two places in Rewa,the town from where BJP leader L K Advanis Jan Chetna Yatra passed two days ago.
Though a terror angle has been prima facie ruled out,the seizure of thousands of detonators and gelatin sticks from a house and a car have made the authorities sit up.
DIG Rewa K P Khare said the explosives were found from a house in Gangotri Colony,located in the middle of the town.
One Rajesh Patel,who had recently rented the house owned by A P Singh,is absconding. The police raided the house around noon and seized two bags loaded with detonators and 10 bags carrying gelatin sticks.
The police learnt that much more quantity of explosives had been spirited away from the house before the raid in an Indigo car.
The car was located some distance away and a thorough search yielded 5,000 detonators and wires.
