What better way to commemorate 65 years of India-Russia diplomatic relations than to bring the masters of the Russian classical tradition to the Capital? Last Wednesday evening,saw ballet performances by the members of the prominent Gzhel dance theatre of Moscow at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture RCSC. Founded by renowned choreographer Vladimir Zakharov in 1988,Gzhel is internationally known for incorporating rich Russian folk and modern traditions in its art. It was the troupes first-ever performance of classics such as Tchaikovskys Swan Lake and Italian Kaprichio,Minkus Don Quixote and Chopins Illusive Ball.
