Court rejects Kannada actors bail petition

The judge cited the severity of violence brought out in the complaint filed by Vijayalakshmi. He ruled that though the injuries caused by Darshan on his three-year-old son while holding him by the neck were minor,the intent of the action can be viewed as serious and amounting to attempt to murder.

The judge also ruled that the actor,having wealth and power,might try to influence witnesses and tamper with evidence. Since the case is still under investigation it would not be appropriate to grant bail,the court ruled.

The court also said that there were indications that Darshans wife Vijayalakshmi was coerced.
