Cops,IB question two in Begusarai

Two brothers were quizzed on Sunday by the Begusarai police in Bihar and a team from the IB in connection with the Hyderabad blasts

Two brothers were quizzed on Sunday by the Begusarai police in Bihar and a team from the IB in connection with the Hyderabad blasts. They were subsequently released.

Mohd Jaiz and Mohd Shad, residents of Bariyarpur village under Teghra police station in Begusarai, were detained following intelligence inputs that the two had left Hyderabad an hour after the blasts. Sources said one of the two had a mobile phone SIM taken in the name of a Hyderabad woman. They had also spent some time in Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

A senior police officer said nothing substantial came out after their questioning but they had been kept under surveillance. The information regarding their travel from Hyderabad and the fake SIM was found true.

Meanwhile,a team from the Hyderabad police is scheduled to reach Motihari in East Champaram district of Bihar to question Somali national Abdullah Omar Makrani and his friend Mohammed Abdul Alam,a resident of Hyderabad, who were arrested at the Raxaul checkpost on February 21. Makrani was travelling without visa and other relevant documents.

IB sources said Makrani fell in love with a Hyderabadi girl after getting in touch with her on a social networking site and wanted to come to Hyderabad to meet her. Makrani applied for an Indian visa but did not get it. He instead got a Nepal visa. After arriving in Kathmandu,he tried to sneak into India when he was detained.

They said Makrani could not explain a 10-minute video of Secunderabad railway station that was found in his laptop. He claimed to have visited Hyderabad once earlier but could not prove it. Alam was carrying three different identity cards, one of which is a driving licence with a Hyderabad address. Police found that although the address existed in Mehdipatnam area,no one by that name ever lived there.

The duo have been lodged in Motihari jail.
