Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday alleged that the Congress was shielding Railway Minister Pawan Bansal though it was an open and shut case of corruption. He demanded that the CBI should immediately question the Railway Minister.
The Congress is shamelessly trying to save Bansal and Law Minister Ashwani Kumar because its afraid that the Prime Minister will come under direct fire, the BJP leader said alleging that the UPA has different benchmarks for allies and its own ministers. Criticising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and seeking his resignation,Prasad said the country had come to be known as one of the most corrupt nations under him. He is under a cloud.
The UPA wants only debate and no accountability, he said while countering the charge that the BJP was only interested in disrupting Parliament.
