During the UPA regime in 2013, Bansal’s nephew, Vijay Singla, was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 89.68 lakh along with seven others for the appointment of Mahesh Kumar as Member (Electrical) Railway Board.

He added that he don't know how successful it will be. It is dangerous if people are not aware of it. Bansal further alleged that the BJP-led NDA Government is repeating the old thing as done by the UPA regime.
