The Congress, which has been claiming to free UP from the politics of caste and religion, seems to be trying to achieve it by organising conventions for different communities.

After holding a minority convention in Eastern UP and a Kshatriya convention in Lucknow, the party held an OBC convention in Lucknow on Sunday.

During the day-long convention which saw the participation of OBC leaders from all assembly constituencies the chief issue was addressing the neglect of OBCs within the party.

Senior party leaders Digvijay Singh, state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi, and Union minister Sriprakash Jaiswal were among those who attended the meet.
