One or two conclusions in the CBIs investigation report on the killings of top Maoist leader Cherukuri Rajkumar alias Azad and a journalist by the Andhra Pradesh Police last year do not show that the encounter was fake,the Supreme Court revealed Monday
A two-judge Bench made the remark after going through an interim report filed by the CBI on the killings. One or two conclusions does not support the theory of the encounter being fake8230; but it is still an encounter, the Bench said.
The court is hearing a petition filed by Bineeta Pandey,the widow of Hemant Pandey,the journalist who was killed along with Azad,alleging the encounter as staged by the police.
The court qualified its remark with a further observation that they should however wait for the CBI to complete its probe and gave the agency time till January 18 to file the final report.

A report by a three-member panel monitoring medical rehabilitation of Bhopal gas victims has filed a report in the Supreme Court seeking sweeping jurisdiction over hospitals and other medical and healthcare establishments which cater to the victims of the tragedy.
