Saudi beheads,nails murderers body to cross

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia executed two murderers,including a Yemeni whose body was nailed to a cross after he was convicted of killing a fellow countryman and his daughter,the Interior Ministry said on Monday. Shaaban al-Nasheri was beheaded for shooting a man in the town of Jazan,the ministry said in a statement. Nasheri was also found guilty of raping and killing the victims daughter before shooting and wounding her sister. Following his execution,his body was nailed to a cross.

NATO: 4 troops killed in Afghan copter crash

KABUL: A military helicopter crashed during an early morning operation in southern Afghanistan on Monday,killing three Australian commandoes and an American service member,officials said. The crash was being investigated but there were no indications of enemy involvement,NATO said in a statement. The Australian government said three of the dead were Australians,and US Lt Col Joseph T Breasseale said the fourth service member killed was American.

Radiation detected near Korean border

SEOUL: Abnormal radiation was detected near the inter-Korean border days after North Korea claimed last month to have achieved a nuclear technology breakthrough,South Koreas Science Ministry said on Monday. It said it failed to find the cause of the radiation but ruled out a possible underground nuclear test by North Korea. It cited no evidence of a strong earthquake that must follow an atomic explosion.

Missing magnate: Rudd says search on for plane

Melbourne: Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd promised to leave no stone unturned in efforts to look for the six mining executives,including a billionaire magnate,whose plane went missing over Cameroon. Rudd said the government was working with local authorities and will spare no effort in the search. The six men,including one of Australias richest men Ken Talbot,were among 11 people on board the plane chartered by Perth firm Sundance Resources when it went missing over Cameroon on Saturday.
