‘No more remakes for me’: Siddhant Chaturvedi denies involvement with Dear Comrade remake, Pratibha Ranta requests fans to wait for official confirmation

It was initially rumoured that Siddhant Chaturvedi and Pratibha Ranta would star in the Dear Comrade remake, reportedly to be backed by Karan Johar.

Siddhant ChaturvediIt was initially reported that Siddhant Chaturvedi and Pratibha Ranta are starring in the Hindi remake of Dear Comrade.

For the past few days, rumours have been circulating that Siddhant Chaturvedi, fresh off the Hindi remake of Pariyerum Perumal, is set to star in yet another South Indian remake, this time of the Telugu hit Dear Comrade, which originally featured Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. Reports also claimed that, like Dhadak 2, the project would be backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, who hold the rights to the original film, and that Pratibha Ranta, known for Laapataa Ladies, was being considered as the female lead opposite Siddhant.

However, both Siddhant and Pratibha have now firmly denied these rumours. On Friday afternoon, the actors took to their respective Instagram accounts to post stories distancing themselves from the speculated project and urging fans to wait for official confirmation regarding their next films. Siddhant, sharing a screenshot of the news claiming his involvement in the remake, wrote, “Just to clarify guys, this isn’t true.” He added that he is done with remakes for the time being: “No remakes for me anymore, even though I’m a fan of the original film and the actors, much love and respect. Thank you.” He did, however, express his interest in working with Pratibha on an original project: “Anyhow I’d love to collaborate with the supremely talented @pratibha_ranta on something original. Looking forward.”

Pratibha Ranta, at the same time, issued a statement on her Instagram story: “With due respect, I kindly request all media pages to please refrain from posting or circulating any unverified information and wait for an official announcement. This has been happening with me for quite some time now, with several projects that I am not associated with, which often leads to unnecessary confusion. I would truly appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and continued support in this matter.”
