Iran irked by typos in Qurans from China

TEHRAN: The head of Irans Quran oversight office says some of the Chinese-printed versions of Islams holy book are littered with spelling errors. Ahmad Haji-Sharif is quoted by Irans semi-official Mehr news agency as warning consumers that lower-cost Qurans may have mistakes in the holy verses. He noted earlier this week that Iranian-produced Qurans carry a higher price but are carefully inspected for any flaws. Officials are now discussing a ban on Chinese-printed Qurans.

7 killed in Pak after gunmen fire on bus

Islamabad: At least seven people were killed on Thursday in Pakistans Kurram Agency when gunmen opened fire on a passenger bus,officials said. Around 16-18 people were travelling in the bus from Upper Kurram Agency towards Lower Kurram Agency. Four people died on the spot and three at the hospital.

WW II bomb kills seven in Myanmar

YANGON: An official says seven people were killed when a World War II bomb they found floating in a river in Rakhine state exploded. The dead included two children. The bomb exploded when they retrieved it from the water.

Israel arrests Hamas leader in West Bank

JERUSALEM: The Israeli military says Hassan Yousef,a militant Hamas leader,whose son collaborated with Israel,has been arrested in the West Bank. The military would not say why Yousef,of the Islamic Hamas group,was taken into custody or provide any other details.
