Indian-American broadcaster files age discrimination suit
HOUSTON: A veteran Indian-American broadcaster filed a federal discrimination against her former employer KSNV/Channel 3. Sunanda Sue Tripathi-Manteris,who had been with the NBC Las Vegas affiliate for 22 years,before her final broadcast on June 9,claimed KSNV let her go because she was too old and from an ethnic minority.
Double bombing kills 37 in Iraq
BAGHDAD: A car packed with explosives and a roadside bomb went off back-to-back outside a municipal building north of Baghdad on Tuesday,killing 37 people and wounding 54,Iraqi police and a hospital doctor said. The twin blast in Taji,a town about 20 km from here,were the latest in a series of attacks across Iraq.

Fresh quake hits New Zealand
WELLINGTON: A powerful earthquake struck New Zealands North Island on Tuesday but there are no immediate reports of casualties or damage and no tsunami warning was issued. The US Geological Survey reported the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.3 and occurred at a depth of 161 km.
