MUMBAI: Six persons were injured when their cars collided on the Bandra-Worli sea-link early Sunday morning,police said. The injured are being treated at Leelavati Hospital. This is the second accident on the bridge in the past five days.

Labour pains force emergency landing

CHENNAI: A Chinese passenger,35,went into labour forcing a Singapore-Zurich flight to make emergency landing at Chennai airport on Sunday. The flight was permitted to land after it was found out that the woman needed urgent medical attention,airport officials said. The woman was immediately rushed to a private hospital.

Uranium seizure: 1 more arrested

MUMBAI: One more person was arrested from Nerul in neighbouring Navi Mumbai in connection with the uranium seizure case,sources said on Sunday. The man identified as Sipatar Yadav 34 allegedly gave uranium to the three arrested earlier on December 7,they said. Yadav was arrested on December 11.

Body of Australian woman fished out

AMRAVATI: The body of an Australian woman,who had fallen in 1,000-feet deep Bhimkund here on Saturday,was fished out with the help of local divers,the police said. The woman identified as Carol Walton 54 had slipped into the water pond while taking photographs at Bhimkund,a picnic spot in Chikalhaldara in the district.

Six of a family killed in Assam

GUWAHATI: Six of a family were killed with two children beheaded by unidentified persons here on Sunday,the police said. The bodies,including those of two women and as many children,were found this morning at Goroidolong locality in Sonapur area,about 25 km from here. The bodies of the boys were found with their heads missing. The police suspect the incident to be a human sacrifice case.

9 BSF personnel injured in mishap

GUMLA Jharkhand: Nine BSF personnel were injured on Sunday when the vehicle in which they were travelling overturned in Gumla district,the police said. The mishap took place at Kundo village in the district when the driver lost control over the vehicle,they said. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where the condition of one was stated to be critical.
