Sensex up 167 points on value buying
mumbai: The BSE Sensex gained 167 points at 16,876.54 today in highly choppy trade ahead of RBIs policy review,as investors indulged in value buying amid firm trend in overseas markets after Germany and France said they would stand behind debt-ridden Greece.

new delhi: The Group of Ministers GoM on coal,chaired by finance minister Pranab Mukherjee is meeting on Friday,in what seems to be its last meeting,to take a final call on the environment ministrys go,no-go classification for coal mines.
The policy introduced two years ago,has led to increased uncertainty over the fate of various power and other projects that have at least Rs 85,000 crore of investments sunk in. There is intense pressure on the coal,power and steel ministries from investors to clear their projects.
New export sop scheme likely today
new delhi: Government is likely to unveil Friday,a new scheme to replace the popular tax refund DEPB for exporters,which is ending on September 30. The government spends annually about Rs 8,500 crore for reimbursing exporters on the taxes paid on import equivalent content of export products,under Duty Entitlement Pass Book DEPB scheme.
