The Howrah-Guwahati-Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper train will have a design speed of 180 kmph. This new train is fitted with Kavach, an indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection System.
This much-awaited orange-and-grey semi-high-speed train is expected to further transform rail travel along the route. With passengers keen to get a first glimpse – and many wondering what the train looks like and how its interiors are designed – here are the photos. Take a look.
The Howrah-Guwahati Vande Bharat Sleeper train will have 16 coaches, including 11 three-tier AC coaches, 4 two-tier AC coaches, and 1 first-class AC coach, with a total capacity of around 823 passengers.

To enhance safety and security on the Howrah–Guwahati Vande Bharat Sleeper train, all coaches are equipped with CCTV cameras.
On Saturday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the Vande Bharat Sleeper rake in New Delhi ahead of its maiden service.

Speaking to the media, Vaishnaw said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the new semi-high-speed train within the next 18 days.

Apart from these features, the Howrah–Guwahati–Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper train offers ergonomically designed berths with improved cushioning. It is also equipped with an emergency talk-back unit, enabling direct communication between passengers and the Train Manager or Loco Pilot in case of an emergency.
