Unitech,Telenor lock horns over Uninor issue
NEW DELHI: Amidst the ongoing controversy over 2G telecom license of Uninor,differences have emerged between stakeholders,Telenor and Unitech Wireless,with the matter going to the court. Norwegian firm Telenor,which holds 67.25 per cent stake in the joint venture,has said it will approach Indian courts after its partner Unitech obtained a stay on a rights issue by Uninor. Telenor spokesperson said,There is,however,now a stay order which halts the rights offer process.
MSMEs to get R2,500 cr for modern technology
NEW DELHI: The government on Saturday said it will create a Rs 2,500-crore corpus for technology modernisation of the micro,small and medium units by the next year. At present,only textiles sector is availing these benefits under the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme wherein the units get 5 per cent subsidy on loans,for upgrading technology,from the government. We are quite hopeful and confident that by this year or certainly by the next year, Uday Varma,Secretary in the Ministry of MSME said.
NTPC signs MoU 11-12 with Power Ministry
New delhi: NTPC and Ministry of Power signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU for the year 2011-12 on Saturday. As per the MoU,NTPC is targeting to achieve 235,000 Million Units MUs of electricity generation under excellent category. NTPC has also committed to add capacity of 4,320 MW from its own and JV projects during the year. In addition,activities in the area of Ramp;D,Human Resource Development,Corporate Social Responsibility,Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development are also part of the MoU.
