Govt allows tax relief for infra funding cos
New Delhi: The government on Friday amended guidelines for Public Financial Institutions PFIs permitting private companies,primarily engaged in infrastructure funding,to attain the status of a PFI and,seek tax and other benefits. Under the new norms notified by the ministry of corporate affairs,any company which has been in existence for more than three years and earns more than 50 per cent income from industrial and infrastructural financing can opt to be a PFI.
Prakash Bakshi is new chairman of NABARD
Mumbai: State-run National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development NABARD on Friday said Prakash Bakshi has been appointed as its new chairman. Prior to this new role,Bakshi was handling the responsibilities as executive director of NABARD.
8 rates on PPFs closed between May 05-Dec 10
New Delhi: The government on Friday said that PPF accounts of Hindu Undivided Families HUFs which were closed down between May 2005 and December 7 last year would get 8 per cent interest on the deposits.

Renault to launch four more cars by 2012
