Aegis buys Argentine BPO firm Actionline

NEW DELHI: Continuing its acquisition spree,Essar group firm Aegis on Tuesday forayed into Argentina by taking over BPO company Actionline,which has estimated revenues of over 50 million annually. This is the 16th acquisition for Aegis over the last five years. The company is part of the 15 billion Essar Group.

Air Asia to launch Bangkok flights

NEW DELHI: In a move that could trigger a price war among airlines in the subcontinent,low-cost carrier Thai AirAsia on Tuesday announced launch of direct flights linking Bangkok to Delhi and Kolkata from December,while those to three more Indian cities were on the anvil. From December one,the airline would operate four flights a week between Delhi and Bangkok and a daily service from Kolkata at all-inclusive one-way fares of Rs 4,500 and Rs 2,500 respectively.

Maran buys another 2.28 pc in SpiceJet

NEW DELHI: Spicejet on Tuesday said that Sun TV chief Kalanithi Maran and his firm KAL Airways have bought additional 2.28 per cent equity for Rs 43.58 crore,as part of the June deal to acquire 37.7 per cent stake in low-cost carrier. This was an off-market transaction,following which Maran8217;s direct stake in the airline now has increased to 26.20 per cent,SpiceJet said.

Rallis announces 90 pc dividend

NEW DELHI: Tata Group firm Rallis India on Tuesday said it has decided to pay an interim dividend of 90 per cent,or Rs 9 per share,to shareholders. The company has fixed October 29,2010,as record date,it said in a communique to BSE.

GoM nod for India-Malay pact on roads

NEW DELHI: A ministerial panel on roads has approved a proposal for an agreement between India and Malaysia on highway projects,road transport and highways minister Kamal Nath said. Earlier,certain clauses in the proposal are believed to have raised eyebrows in the Cabinet and it was referred to a Group of Ministers by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

FM to inaugurate IT.biz on October 28

BANGALORE: Karnatakas flagship event Bangalore IT.biz would be unveiled by the finance minister Pranab Mukherjee here on October 28. The three-day event envisages platform building and identifying emerging opportunities and would comprise of multi-track conferences.

Cadila Q2 net up 29.49 pc to Rs 170 cr

NEW DELHI: Drug firm Cadila Healthcare said its consolidated net profit rose by 29.49 per cent to Rs 170.8 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 131.9 crore in the same period previous fiscal. Total income of the company rose to Rs 1,120.5 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.
