BJP sharpens its attack on PM over corruption

Prasad called the PMs assertion an an alibi of delusion.

The BJP on Thursday picked out PM Manmohan Singhs assertion during his meeting with a group of editors that his government takes decisions in a world of uncertainty to target him. It rejected his contention that instances of corruption were aberrations, saying corruption has been the most defining and deplorable feature of UPA II and it was the result of his culpable inaction and indifference.

BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad sought to know from Singh what uncertainties prevented him from taking action against former telecom minister A Raja when he refused to follow his directive on allocation of 2G licences in 2007,ignore the objections raised by senior civil servants, and call Raja innocent even after the CBI began a probe.

Singh had said his government takes decisions in a world of uncertainty while the CAG,House committees and others analyse these decisions post facto with the help of lot more facts. Prasad called the PMs assertion an an alibi of delusion.
