A day after it was reported that Pranlal Soni,the father of the woman who was allegedly put under surveillance by the Narendra Modi government,does not want a probe into the matter,the Congress on Wednesday accused the BJP of managing Soni. AICC general secretary Madhusudan Mistry also alleged that his phone is put under surveillance whenever he is in Gujarat. Questioning Modis intellect,Mistry said that a person like him at the helm of affairs may be dangerous for the country. That (alleged snooping) shows Modis style of functioning. He is a person who can use or abuse any system for anything. There may be many more surveillances,I am pretty sure. In Gujarat,it is a well-known fact. You had encounters right before elections. He feels he is The State,not just a Chief Minister, Mistry said in an interview to The Indian Express. Asked why the Congress is pursuing the matter when the womans father has said he does not want a probe,he said,Looking at the behaviour in the past,they (the BJP) must have managed. There are a number of such cases in the High Court and the Supreme Court. There should be a complete collusion. The BJP has done it a number of times. The strategy is that if I lodge a complaint against the CM,his followers or his party will go to the family and see to it that the complaint is withdrawn. Why was his family so afraid? In a safe law and order situation in Gujarat,as he (Modi) claims,why was there this fear that a father has to write to the CM,and the Saheb or the Home Minister has to take care of a single individual? Did she have any link with terrorists? Was she a threat to anybody? If somebody elses father needs protection by the police,will they be so enthusiastic? Mistry,a member of the Congresss election coordination committee headed by Rahul Gandhi,alleged that his phone is also put under surveillance whenever he goes to Gujarat. It happens when I am in Gujarat and not when I am outside. You get disturbances and noise on the (mobile) phone. I am a political threat to them, he said. On the BJPs decision to nominate Modi as its PM candidate,Mistry said,It is a pity. Why dont you (Modi) take questions from the press? Is it because there is fear that you will be exposed? Who is pushing him? From where does he get financial support? What is he going to offer to them? Has anyone analysed? Why he,why not other CMs? Because he is corporate friendly. Whose eyes are on natural and financial resources of the country? They themselves cant do it and so they want somebody else to go there. The issue is the economic policy and control of resources. But I have full faith in the people of this country. He can never reach there. The Congress general secretary said he does not see any comparison between Rahul Gandhi and Modi. Rahulji is way ahead in his vision for the country. Does Modi have any vision of developing the country? He (Modi) is 23 years elder to Rahulji but he is trying to make him a competitor. Rahulji has frequently spelt out his ideas regarding issues of governance and politics. Has he (Modi) ever presented his ideas before the press or the country? Has he (Modi) been tested intellectually. I question his intellect. He is fed whatever he speaks. The moment you ask him anything,he has fears that he will be exposed, he said.
