The BJP on Sunday decided to dissolve all its district and city-level units with immediate effect,following the partys poor show in the recently-concluded Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
The decision was taken by state party president Surya Prasad Shahi after an assessment of results with senior party leaders,partys media in-charge West UP Sardar S P Singh said,adding that new units will be formed soon.

Singh said the party had taken serious note of the poll results in the state,where it lost seats that were considered strongholds of prominent leaders.
The BJP was ranked third in the elections with 47 seats,four down from its tally in the 2007 polls.
