Bedi,Kejriwal attitude damaging cause: Naqvi

Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal — the high profile lieutenants of Anna Hazare — came under attack from senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal — the high profile lieutenants of Anna Hazare — on Friday came under attack from senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on a day Bedi publicly ridiculed BJP leaders Gopinath Munde and Anant Kumar when they visited Ramlila Maidan.

Sources said Bedi’s actions have not gone done well with the BJP. But it has decided not to react now as it did not want to divert the attention from the “sensitive” issue of Lokpal and frustrate attempts to end the impasse. Moreover,it feels Hazare has got public support and it would not be politically prudent to take them on at this juncture.

But Naqvi came out all guns blazing. He said “the confused attitude of Bedi and Kejriwal is damaging the pious cause”.

“Politicians and Parliament are abused from the stage. It is an open platform. Anyone is able to jump on to it,grab the mike and start abusing politicians and Parliament. This is vitiating the agitation’s motive and theme. It’s a pious cause but is getting derailed,” he told The Indian Express. Naqvi said most of the MPs support the agitation, but “unfortunatly these types of actions are damanging that. The confused attitude of Bedi and Kejriwal is damaging the cause,” he added.

He also took to Twitter. “Jan Lokpal agitation has become directionless, because of the confused & contradictory behaviour of Bedi & Kejriwal,” he said.
