BJP leader and Pawan Kumar Bansals archrival Satya Pal Jain on Sunday alleged that the Railway Ministers kin had floated several companies after he was inducted into the Union Cabinet in 2006.
These companies prospered after Bansal became Minister of State,Finance. All his relatives are jointly holding directors posts in such companies. While Bansal has distanced himself from Vijay Singla after the allegations of bribery came to light, his sons and nephews becoming directors of these companies belie his claims, alleged Jain. He demanded that an independent and thorough probe should to conducted into the capital, functioning and performance of all the companies in which Bansals sons and nephews are directors so that truth emerges automatically.
Between 2005 and 2011,Bansals son Manish, who is an advocate, sought permissions from the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana High Court several times to take on the directors post in various companies,Jain told the media and circulated copies of the letters.
Though the companies where Singla was director did not have any of Bansals family members on Board,Singla and Bansals sons have common relatives as directors in their respective companies.
Jain added,Soon after Bansal became the Railway Minister, close friends and relatives started getting into the businesses of catering and supplying mineral water bottles. Sources have disclosed that Singla was a frequent visitor to Bansals office at New Delhis Rail Bhawan. Bansal should clarify whether the contract for Rail Neer, supplied in trains, has been given to any of Singlas associates or relatives. The CBI should investigate whether Singlas friend Sandeep Goyal, who was recently arrested in the same bribery case, was given a contract of catering in the Indian Railways.
Jain further alleged that Bansals family members had also taken loans from these companies.
As per records, dated March 31,2012,that he showed to the media,Bansals elder son Amit had borrowed Rs 5 lakh from Vibgyor Designs Private Limited. Bansals wife Madhu had borrowed Rs 8 lakh from the same company. Amit,Manish and Vikram Bansal had taken long-term loans from Bansi Raunaq Energy Group Limited.
