PM not visiting,no ULFA bandh
GUWAHATI: The Paresh Barua-led faction of the ULFA has called off its 12-hour Assam bandh on Monday after Prime Minister Manmohan Singhs visit was rescheduled. ULFA publicity-in-charge Arunodoy Dohotiya said in an e-mail that a bandh would,however,be observed on whichever day the Prime Minister or any other representative of the Union government visits the state in the future. Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said,If Paresh Baruah thinks he can scare the party,he is wrong.
UDF sniffs tie-up between CPM,BJP
Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress-led UDF has alleged that the absence of a BJP candidate against Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan in Malampuzha is part of a clandestine understanding with the CPM as the two parties are now together in opposing the UPA at the Centre. The BJP has pointed out that the seat is with its ally JDU,which has named a candidate.
Corruption key to Swamy campaign
