Arunachal gets its first woman DGP

Vimla Mehra,a 1978 batch IPS officer,on Tuesday took charge as the first woman Director General of Police in Arunachal Pradesh. She succeeds Ajay Chadda,who returned to New Delhi after a two-year term.

Mehra,who was posted as additional DCP,South after the 1984 Sikh riots in New Delhi,also served in the CRPF,RAF and Crime Against Women CAW cell in New Delhi.
