Another minister in conflict zone in Bihar

After Bihar Rural Works and Panchayati Raj Minister Bhim Singh created a furore with his remarks over the killing of five Indian soldiers

After Bihar Rural Works and Panchayati Raj Minister Bhim Singh created a furore with his remarks over the killing of five Indian soldiers, another Bihar minister embarrassed the Nitish Kumar government on Saturday by saying that it was an act by extremist elements over which the Pakistan government had no control.

The Pakistani government does not seem to be involved in the killing of the Indian soldiers. It is an act of extremist elements over which Pakistan has no control, Bihar Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh said at a press conference in Jamui. Four of the five army men killed were from Bihar. On Thursday,Rural Works and Panchayati Raj Minister Bhim Singh had said martyrdom is part of the job for policemen and soldiers, for which he later apologised.

The Agriculture Minister was responding to media queries on Bhim Singhs remark. Narendra Singh did not find anything wrong with the martyrdom statement and blamed the media for twisting facts. He also blamed the media for twisting his statement as well. He said he had only talked about problems of extremism plaguing India and Pakistan and had not given Pakistan any clean chit.
