Aher quits NCP,rejoins BJP

In a setback to the Nationalist Congress Party NCP ahead of the Assembly elections in Maharashtra,senior party leader and former minister Daulatrao Aher has quit the party and rejoined the BJP.

Aher,a minister in the 19908217;s Shiv Sena-BJP government,was welcomed into the BJP by party general secretary Gopinath Munde and state unit president Nitin Gadkari at a function here late Tuesday night.

Shrigonda Co-operative Sugar Factory chairman Shivajirao Nagawde also joined the BJP at the function.
