Advani for now,Modi future PM: Shekhawat

Former Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat,who had threatened to contest the Lok Sabha elections some four months ago,thereby posing an indirect challenge to NDAs PM-candidate L K Advani,has now strongly backed Advanis candidature for the PM position. Going a step further,he also backed Narendra Modi as the partys future PM-candidate.

You will choose your representatives in the remaining phases of the elections on May 7 and 13. India needs a strong and stable government headed by a determined leader. Only a BJP-led Government,with Shri Lal Krishna Advani as Prime Minister can safeguard the nations interests, Shekhawat said in statement released on Saturday.

Recalling Advanis Rajasthan connection,where elections are now scheduled to be held,he said in helping Advaniji become Indias next Prime Minister,you will be helping a leader who is a Rajasthani at heart.

Shekhawat also backed Modi as the partys next PM-candidate. After five years,there will be another Prime Minister. In BJPs terms,if Modis name has been suggested,it is not a crime. In a family,a childs future is discussed by the elders. It is not that Advanijis importance has become any less because of Modi. Every BJP member has the capability to hold a responsible post,whether it is Modi or Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. If the party has decided to name Modi,it is because he has worked well, Shekhawat was quoted as saying by CNN-IBN.
