A new cause

It was heartening to see Madhuri Dixit come on board the Wildlife Trust of India and lend her support to create awareness and raise crucial funds for the conservation for the Asian Elephant in India. Dressed in a shimmering salwar-kameez and a stunning emerald neck-piece,the actress said that being a Maharashtrian, Lord Ganesh has been her favourite. Ganesh is our deity and we pray to him. Also in Kathak,the dance form I have learnt,we begin by praising Ganpati. I have always been very fond of this gentle and great animal,and it saddens me that the number is diminishing rapidly. What legacy will we leave for our kids,if we dont take some steps now? When my children grow up,I want them to see real elephants and not just read about them, smiled the actress.
