The plan of water management for Gurgaon is in place and a solution to the long-standing problem of a lack of a storm water disposal system was also in the offing, a spokesperson of the Haryana Urban Development Authority said, here today. 8220;A blueprint is in place to deal with the problem, land acquisition is being carried out and work has already begun,8221; he claimed. Construction of solid waste management plants, shifting of garbage dumping sites and recarpeting of roads were the top priorities for HUDA, he said.

HUDA has spent Rs ,2022 crore of the Rs 2,967 crore collected up to September 2008 as External Development Charges EDC. An amount of Rs 500 crore would be spent during this year for developing infrastructure.

The spokesman said the expenditure also included Rs 197 crore on the project of extension of Delhi Metro to Gurgaon. He said HUDA was committed to providing Gurgaon with basic infrastructure and services in a time-bound manner.
