CHANDIGARH, Jan 17: Corruption in bureaucracy came in for sharp criticism at the third open discussion on quot;Bureacracy, Corruption and the Common Manquot; organised today by Janshakti under the auspices of Servants of the People Society.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Human Rights Commission member T.S. Cheema said the elected representatives should keep a check on bureaucrats while people should vote only the right and honest men to power. He appreciated the judiciary for taking a bold stand against the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats.

Reader in the Punjab University8217;s Public Administration Department, R.K. Sapru, said it was unfortunate that the bureaucrats were shuffled whenever the government changed. He stressed that under no circumstances should the bureaucrats lose neutrality.

Among others who spoke on the occasion were Prof K. Gopal Iyer from PU8217;s Department of Sociology, Servants of People Society secretary Onkar Chand and Janshakti convenor P.P. Arya.
