CHANDIGARH, Oct 11: The chain hunger strike by the Action Committee for Development of Villages, UT, entered its third day today.
The villagers are protesting against the quot;anti-villagequot; policies of the Administration. Today it was the turn of Hallomajra village to sit on hunger strike. Nearly seven persons from the village sat on hunger strike near the bridge market in Sector 17. The action committee is demanding regularisation of Abadi beyond lal doraand provision of basic civic amenities to the residents among other things. Among those who addressed the gathering today included the action committee8217;s general secretary Chaman Lal, joint secretary Sita Ram, vice-president Beni Pal, Hallomajra8217;s former sarpanch Krishan Lal Billa.
