MUMBAI, July 26: Vian Pinto of Holy Cross Mira Road and Irfan Shaikh of Seventh Day Adventist, did their schools proud by scoring a hat-trick each in the Inter-School football league, sponsored by Colgate Palmolive, today.

Vian8217;s effort enabled Holy Cross to trounce St Joseph8217;s Kandivli 5-1 in the under-16 IV-A group at the St Francis D8217;Assisi ground, Borivli. Vineet Pullicottil and Keegan Pereira were the other scorers for Holy Cross, while Joydon Andrade reduced the margin for the Kandivli side.

Irfan Shaikh8217;s hat-trick saw Seventh Day Adventist rout Fatima Vidyavihar 4-0 in the under-14 III-D pool at the MSSA-Castrol Schools Sports Centre, Azad maidan. Waseem Ansari was the other goal-getter for the winners. In an interesting encounter, St Francis D8217;Assisi Borivli just about defeated Don Bosco Borivli by a solitary goal in the under-14 I-A section. Adam Alphonso netted the all-important goal on his homeground.

A brace by Zubin Ankleswaria helped St Mary8217;s SSC to move past St Joseph8217;sColaba 2-0 in the under-14 I-B group.

The other player to shine was Anthony Conrad who netted both the goals in Our Lady of Salvation8217;s Dadar slender 2-1 victory over Bombay Scottish Mahim in the under-14 I-D group. Rahul Singh scored for the losers.
