Starry dreams
Self-proclaimed star Jiah Khan did not have Bollywood as part of her life plans when she was growing up. “There was a time when I was seriously thinking of being an astronoaut and exploring the universe,” the actress says. However, she has not given up on her desire to travel in space. “I am studying astronomy and archeology. In my spare time I study planetary changes and constellations as well as ancient history of art and artifacts. I am studying the subjects because I want to know more about the universe and history of the world,” she says smiling. If Ghajini does not do well, seems like space will be the only option for Jiah.

Healing through music
SEEMS like Vidya Balan strongly belives in music’s power to relax people. The actress apparently downloads music of various languages and plays them, in an effort to make sure that the unit does not get bogged down by mundane work. A unit member says, “Vidya has a good ear for music. The tunes downloaded by her are very soothing. It peps her staff and the unit members. It sees them through the night. The best part is that they don’t feel tired but rejuvenated and look forward to work the next day too.”

Keep it up!
SEEMS like Pritish Nandy’s involvement in giving the junta ‘different’ cinema is finally paying off. The filmmaker is being awarded with the Media Citizen Karamveer Puraskar Mainstream Filmmaker Award for outstanding contributions to films. The ‘Karmaveer Puraskar’ is a national award for Social Justice and Citizen Action which recognises individuals who have been instrumental in leading change. The awards are given to individuals from various sectors for their contribution in promoting social justice and action. The award is instituted by iCONGO — a confederation of NGOs and the Khemka Foundation with partners like TISS, BCCI, NASSCOM Foundation, Outlook, Business World, etc. Also receiving the award will be actor Kajol.
