Vengsarkar to travel down under to watch India A perfrom

Dilip Vengsarkar is to leave for Australia to watch the performance of the India A squad in the Emerging Nations tournament in Queensland.

Chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar is to leave for Australia on July 16 to watch the performance of the India A squad in the Emerging Nations tournament in Queensland from July 14-26.

Team coach Praveen Amre informed that because of the importance of the tournament, that readies fringe players for the next level of the game, the Cricket Board has decided to send the chief selector 8220;to watch the performance of the players8221;.

The India A squad is set to depart for Australia later on Friday to take part in the tournament featuring other teams from the hosts, South Africa and New Zealand in Twenty20 and 50-over games.

This would be Vengsarkar8217;s first visit overseas in an official capacity in more than 10 months after returning from England last year following the Indian team8217;s visit.

His co-selector Bhupinder Singh has already left for Israel as coach of another team led by Jaydev Shah to take part in three one-day ties against the hosts.
