And just like that, director Jeethu Joseph has dropped what can be described as the most-awaited update of the year: when the Mohanlal-led Drishyam 3 will release. The filmmaker made this revelation at a time when the movie’s Hindi version is embroiled in controversy over the exit of actor Akshaye Khanna, who played a key role in Drishyam 2 (2022), from the project.
Revealing that the Malayalam version of the third instalment in the Drishyam franchise will hit the screens in the first week of April, Jeethu shared that an official announcement will be made soon. While the film went on floors on September 22, 2025, the makers announced its wrap-up on December 2, 2025. Drishyam 3 is currently in its post-production phase.

“Drishyam is a film that influenced many people, and hence, it carries a weight of its own. That is why I would say one should come watch the movie without setting their expectations too high. You can catch Drishyam 3 (in theatres) in the first week of April. An official announcement will follow soon. I thank you for all the support given so far,” Mathrubhumi quoted Jeethu as saying while taking part in an event held at a private hospital in Kochi.
Prior to Drishyam 3, the director has another movie getting ready for release: Valathu Vashathe Kallan, starring Biju Menon and Joju George in the lead roles. The film will hit the screens on January 30. “It will be a good movie; I am very confident. The teaser was released the other day. It’s not just Drishyam, you know; I am doing other films as well,” Jeethu quipped.
