MUMBAI, JAN 19: The total loss in yesterday8217;s ransacking by vandals of the Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI headquarters at the Brabourne Stadium here could be around Rs 15 lakhs.

The Oriental Insurance and survey inspectors, however, told PTI today that the exact amount would be known within a week.

The rampaging mob caused extensive damage to as many as 32 trophies, including the Ranji Trophy, Madhavrao Scindia Trophy and the Fathesingh Gaikwad Trophy.

The Veximco Trophy, which the Indian under-19 team won in the Junior World Cup at Australia in 1989, was totally damaged while the Independence Cups which India won in Bangaladesh and at home a couple of years ago were partially damaged.

The diamond ball atop the Titan Cup, won in 1996 beating South Africa in Mumbai, was missing while the Wills World Series Cup, won in 1994, was found on the ground floor.

The Pepsi Asia Cup, won in 1992, SAF Trophy 1995 and the replica of the prestigious Prudential World Cup 1983 were among the othertrophies which got away with minor damage.
