JALANDHAR, JAN 22: Atal Behari Vajpayee has proved to be the weakest prime minister so far as he has failed to tackle the anti-social and disruptive forces who were playing havoc with the country, said Punjab Youth Congress president Devinder Singh Babbu today.

In a statement here, Babbu said BJP8217;s own wings, Shiv Sena, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal had been creating instability in different parts of the country by indulging in anti-national activities. 8220;This is being done as part of a planned conspiracy to destabilise the country,8221; he alleged.

Speaking about the functioning of the SAD-BJP government in Punjab, Babbu said Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was trying to make Congress a scapegoat for its failures on the economic front. Instead, he said, the wrong policies of the Badal government had caused the bankruptcy in the state. 8220;This had never happened during the Congress regime,8221; he added.

Babbu alleged that Badal was only concerned about the welfare of his son and not about the chaos in the state. About the reconstitution of the Punjab Youth Congress, Babbu said he would do it by February 15.
