
Anniversary celebrated
The No 1 Guided Weapon Training Institute celebrated its 35th anniversary with much fanfare on Sunday. Inaugurated by Air Commodore P P Rajkumar, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Vadodara, the celebration was attended by all officers, airmen and civilians of the unit with their families. The day-long jamboree included various entertainment programmes, sports and cultural activities. Winners and runners-up were given prizes by Commanding Officer Group Captain N S Raveendran.
AIYF meeting
A conference of All India Youth Federation representatives of western and central India is scheduled to be held in Bhalchandra Trivedi Hall, Gayatri Chambers, in Vadodara on February 28. Shamim Faizee of the Communist Party of India will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Oza remembered
Thought-provoking lectures on the past, present and the future of Ayurveda were delivered at the sixth monthly death anniversary of Vaid Navin Oza of Gujarat Ayurved Sanshodhan Ane Vikas Kendra, at Indian Medical Hall, Salatwada, on Sunday. Bhupendra Lakhawala, MLA, inaugurated the function and also released three books on the subject of Ayurveda. Hasmukh Patel, Haribhai Trivedi and Vaidraj C P Shukla, Vinayak Mahaskar, Mahesh Sanghvi, Pankaj Naram, Ambubhai Patel and Nimish Oza spoke on the occasion.
Special days
Representatives of the M S University union are organising a week of special days8217; from Monday. The week will include Western day, Chocolate Day, Friendship Day and Rose Day. General secretary of student8217;s union Prakash Verma said that the activities are being organised without any financial aid from the union.
