MSU directed to issue notice
The district court has directed M S University to issue fresh poll notifications and conduct students8217; elections again, according to advocate Narendra Tiwari. The first round on December 24 were cancelled following student unrest. Though MSU authorities said they were yet to receive the verdict, only the Syndicate can decide whether the polls are held or not. Tiwari, however, said that if the directive was not honoured, it would lead to contempt of court.

It raids
Sleuths of the Income Tax Department on Thursday raided seven residential and business premises of a well-known Vadodara-based chemical manufacturing company. The searches began early in the morning and were likely to continue late into the night, a statement said.

Applications
The social defence department of the district has invited applications from disabled persons interested in getting laminated identity cards. Forms have to be submitted along with the civil surgeon8217;s certificate and two photographs to the department head between noon and 5.30 p.m.

Office shifted
The Baroda Central Pensioners8217; Association has moved to a new office at Shree Apartment, Shanker Pol, Raopura, which will be opened on Friday at 10 am.

ONGC mela
The ONGC Mahila Samiti will organise Anand Mela 8217;99 on January 23 at the Sports Pavilion from 6.30 pm to raise funds for community development activities. It will be inaugurated by ONGC chairman B C Bora.
